Anna Molinari is the designer behind the label Blumarine which she founded in 1977 with her husband Gianpaolo Tarabini. Anna Molinari’s world is one of seduction and charm, great vitality and a spontaneous sense of fun. Slim built, mild mannered yet energetic, the designer in three decades of creativity has conquered the fashion world. She loves travelling and being surrounded by modern objects and antiques, as well as painting and music. Fashion however is her greatest passion. In 1980 they made their first appearance at Modit in Milan, where Blumarine was named Designer of the Year, which led to their first show at Milan Fashion Week the following year. The 1986 Milan Fashion week saw the first collection wholly designed by Anna Molinari. The first Blumarine boutique was opened in the Via della Spiga, Milan in 1990 of which 55 are own-brand boutiques. She has created clothes considered true cult items, such as the t-shirts with logo in Swarovski crystals or the famous Blu-Vi, the small cardigan in cashmere with a mink collar, photographed on the greatest Hollywood stars. Style and image: Anna Molinari has assigned Blumarine AD campaigns to camera wizards such as Helmut Newton and Albert Watson, photographing top models of the caliber of Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford, Eva Herzigova, Helena Christensen, Carla Bruni, Carré Otis and Monica Bellucci. For Anna Molinari fashion is a mix of sensations and cultural influences, a return to the past and a vision of the future, for a modern, sexy and feminine woman.
